I came out with a great idea for an app. Unfortunately I sat on it too long and now Google is building it.
Just like every other procrastinator out there I missed out on a great opportunity because of my own hang ups. There was a long period in my life where I came up with ideas and did nothing with them. As every entrepreneur knows the only advantage on their side is speed so there is no room for laziness.
My app idea
An app that accesses your camera (utilizing a facial recognition API) and lets you take a picture of your television screen to identify a celebrity you can't place. You would simply open the app when you see an actor you can't place, take their picture and let the app connect to the actors IMDB page.
Since noticing Google has started building a very similar app, I dropped the celebrity search app that I would have called "Who's That?"
I got as far as naming it and then daydreaming of spending my future fortune.
Not knowing how to code I assumed building an app would be out of my capability. Well, full disclosure so far it is, but not for long. I've got another good app idea and this time instead of sitting on it I'm building it myself. It turns out coding isn't necessary to build an app, although it would certainly help.
Am I shooting myself in the foot again?
Here I go again talking about building an app instead of building it.
Hopefully I've learned enough to get to work on the new app ideas and not slack off so much. Perhaps you're in the same predicament as I am and could use a little motivation.
The impossible is now possible
With the advancement and rise of code free website building platforms people like me can get their voice and ideas out and there is no reason why you shouldn't be doing the same. We need to stay connected as a species and grow together.
